My name is David Barone and I've worked professionally in the software industry since 1996. In that time I've worked in a number of independant software vendors and consultancies both in the UK and in Australia, and have developed a number of business and financial systems for some of the largest companies in both countries.

I've worked extensively with the Microsoft stack and have used .NET since 2001. Outside work, I dabble is various languages and amuse myself with small projects like my chess game. My current attention is focused on dynamic languages, and Python in particular.

Currently I work for a regional IT firm developing .NET solutions for a number of clients around the Newcastle area. Most of my working day, I'm coding C#. I'm constantly trying to produce better designed solutions, and am a big fan of design patterns, open source tools, frameworks and ALT.NET
